Prospero Build Diary - Part Seven
Assembling the components. Unlike a lot of casemods I don't have a side window, so I can be as messy as I like. And it's done! More or less. Still working on the mouse. It's about as fun as watching paint dry, since that's what I'm doing. But the look is pretty damn intense. It looks even better in real life.
Old case for comparison:
And a shot in the dark, to show you the globe effect. All the switches and buttons seem to work perfectly. Fantastic! You can touch the globe, of course, and it does everything you'd expect. It's so cool.
Coming soon in an epilogue - the mouse mod. Stay tuned!

Justin, the case is really fantastic looking. Can't wait to see it in person...in the dark, especially. Mom

Awesome justin. You really expand what I thought was possible in a case mod. I still don't know how you got that bezel in. Crazy!

It's been a lot of fun. I recommend casemodding to anybody that wants to try. One thing you can do to start out with is simply paint your case. You'll want to take out the parts, remove all the panels and bezel spacers you can, and be sure to rough each surface with fine grit sandpaper. Apply several thin coats instead of one thick one. And then seal the paint with a clear acrylic finish - matte or gloss, your choice.

This is one of the coolest useless things I've seen in a long time. Well done, Justin.
Of course, to be really cool, you ought to paint the motherboard black too, don't you think?

Justin, can you tell me if its just me, but these last 2 post appear to use inquisitive quite poorly. Inquisitive is not a replacement for interesting or intriguing, as far as I know, what do you think? Do you think they really think your blog is questioning or probing something? Maybe, however, they are using a bot of some kind to write these, hmm.
